NEED TO KNOW!
Criteria for participating as a volunteer for the
Maui Film Festival at Wailea

DATES OF FESTIVAL: Wednesday, June 14th - Sunday, June 18th.

OFFICIAL PRE-FESTIVAL VOLUNTEER MEETING
Wednesday, June 7th, 6:15pm - 7:15pm (ish)

To all Volunteer Candidates!
Please attend a 1 hour orientation in the HAYNES ROOM at the MACC (the old administration offices). Barry and Stella Rivers would like to welcome and thank you personally for supporting this years festival. As consideration for attending, you will be offered a discounted ticket to that evenings 7:30 pm screening of "Neil Young: Heart of Gold".

UNIFORM:
As the "face of the festival," we ask that you present yourself in the same professional manner you would any employer; clean clothes, attention to hygeine, and sturdy shoes. Many jobs require being on your feet, walking up and down a fairly steep ramp and walking on grass. Please refrain from wearing slippers ("sandals" for you mainlanders) as they can severely limit your mobility and safety. The official uniform of the MFF@Wailea Volunteer is kacki (tan) or black shorts, pants or skirt and the official MFF T-Shirt you will receive when you check in for your first shift (in your requested size - hopefully :-).

COMMITMENT: If you commit to a shift and accept tickets for events that occur before your shift, and then don't show up, you will be invoiced the cost of the tickets and inconvenience the other volunteers, because they'll have to make up for you. If you make a commitment, please honor it.

CONSIDERATION: Each 4 hour volunteer shift entitles you to $40 worth of movie passes. Although paying $20 to watch world-class entertainment under the stars in Wailea is a steal, $20 is an incentive for many of us to earn our ticket in this fun way. If you can readily afford the festival, please consider not taking up a volunteer space that might be used by a movie lover on a budget. By buying your ticket, you are supporting a wonderful annual tradition that just keeps getting better.

VOLUNTEER PARKING: Parking for volunteers is at the Blue Course at the Wailea Golf Course. Head south past the resorts of Wailea. Turn left at the intersection immediately after you pass the Kea Lani - pull into first drive on right and right again into the parking lot. Arrive 10-15 minutes before you are scheduled to check in at the Volunteer desk at the Seawatch (see map for volunteer office directions) so that you know where to go when you are shuttled over.
